This month, NICCA is proud to spotlight the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, our Member and Grantee of the Month! Their CCDF Summer Culture & Language Camp is creating a fun, meaningful space for children to connect with Yakama language, traditions, and community all summer long.

In FY2024, NICCA deepened its impact through training, advocacy, and direct support to Tribal early childhood programs. From shaping federal policy to strengthening community-based solutions, NICCA remained steadfast in its mission to uplift Tribal voices and ensure Native children receive culturally grounded, high-quality care.

The Tribal Early Learning Initiative (TELI) helps Tribal communities strengthen early childhood systems by aligning programs like child care, Head Start, preschool, and home visiting. The 2026–2028 cohort will emphasize food security and nutrition. CCDF Lead Agencies can join by indicating interest in Appendix 2 of their Tribal Plan.
