Across Indian Country, Tribal communities continue to lead innovative, culturally grounded

approaches to caring for and educating young children. Every Tribal Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) program has a unique story—one shaped by community values, language, tradition, resilience, and a shared commitment to future generations.
NICCA invites Tribal CCDF programs to participate in Connecting Our Programs: A Living Resource of Tribal Child Care and Early Learning Stories and Strategies. This ongoing initiative highlights the incredible work happening across Indian Country while creating opportunities for programs to learn from one another and celebrate the many ways Tribes support children and families.
Why Participate?
By sharing your program's experiences, you'll help build a growing, searchable resource that showcases the diversity, strengths, and innovation of Tribal early learning programs. Together, we're documenting the stories, ideas, and strategies that make Tribal child care unique.
Through interviews and optional resource sharing, we're exploring topics such as:
Program foundations and guiding values
Culture, language, and community connections
Successful strategies and promising practices
Challenges, resilience, and lessons learned
Leadership and future goals
Collaboration and shared learning across Tribal programs
How to Get Involved
If your Tribal CCDF program hasn't participated yet, we encourage you to join us. After signing up, a member of the NICCA team will schedule an interview at a time that works for you. Programs also have the opportunity to share materials such as Tribal Plan Pre-Prints, ACF-700 Annual Reports, photos, videos, or other resources that highlight their work.
Your participation helps preserve valuable knowledge, celebrate Tribal leadership, and inspire other programs across Indian Country.
Sign up today and help us continue building this living resource of Tribal stories, strategies, and successes.
As always, all information shared with NICCA will be treated with care and respect. Nothing will be published or shared outside of NICCA without your Tribe's explicit permission.
Together, we can continue honoring the remarkable work happening in Tribal child care—one story at a time.
