About the Event

The Program Planning Institute is focused on enhancing the quality and strategic planning aspects of the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) program. As experts in Tribal CCDF programs, we recognize the vital importance of continually improving the quality of early childhood education and care services while strategically planning for the future. This training is designed to equip Tribal CCDF grantees with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate quality improvement initiatives, strategic planning processes, and the drafting of effective CCDF plans tailored to Tribal communities.

Topics covered will include:

  • Examining your own community's early learning needs in preparing for 2025 Plan submission;

  • Sharing ideas and practices with your Tribal peers;

  • Discussing child counts, service areas, and definitions;

  • Exploring new program and service ideas, such as increasing wages, creating family support staff and/or early learning collaboration staff, developing infrastructure, indigenizing early learning curriculums, engaging providers and families, and more;

  • Understanding the political landscape of child care with the upcoming election cycle;

  • And more!

This training is specifically designed to support Tribal administrators, new and seasoned, to strategize for their next plan -- with plenty of time to present your programs growth and expansion to your Tribal leadership. Tribal leaders are welcome to join you, as well as any team members that Administrators feel appropriate.

The training will be dynamic and hands on, interactive, and a time for putting our Plans on paper! At this time, this training is only planned for this session. It will be a powerful time for building Tribal child care in your community and building our national alliance in this work.
