As the 119th Congress approaches, significant shifts in leadership are poised to shape the legislative landscape. Republicans have secured control of both the U.S. Senate and House, which will commence in January 2025. Senator Thune (R-SD) has been chosen as the new Senate Majority Leader, succeeding Senator McConnell (R-KY), who previously announced his departure at the end of this term. Meanwhile, Speaker Johnson (R-LA) is anticipated to continue leading the House, pending the formal election in January.
