About the Event

Details

President Trump and his Administration are focused on improving government efficiency while honoring commitments to Indian Country. They aim to streamline operations without compromising service quality to Tribes. Indian Affairs, including the BIA, BIE, BTFA, and the Office of the Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs, will engage with federally recognized Tribes to gather input on critical needs for operational improvements. The Department of the Interior remains dedicated to fulfilling its responsibilities effectively.

On February 11, 2025, President Trump issued Executive Order 14210, launching the "Department of Government Efficiency" Workforce Optimization Initiative to enhance Federal workforce efficiency and productivity. Each agency must develop a reorganization plan, and the Department will seek formal consultation feedback from Tribes on the EO and related topics.
