The Practice-Based Coaching Training Institute (PBCTI) is a virtual, interactive professional development event. It’s designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively implement the Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) model. Join us to explore the four key components of PBC: Collaborative Partnerships, Shared Goals and Action Planning, Focused Observation, and Reflection and Feedback. Gain practical strategies to support education staff in implementing effective teaching and home visiting practices, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for children and families!

Each training session has a different focus:

  • Jan. 14

    • Essential PBC strategies

    • Effective practices that PBC can support

    • How to build collaborative partnerships

  • Jan. 21

    • Strengths and needs process

    • How to develop shared goals and action plans

  • Jan. 28

    • Conducting focused observations

    • Supporting reflection

    • Providing supportive and constructive feedback

    • Resources to support coaches' professional development

Sessions are offered in English and Spanish.

Key Topics

In the institute, we’re discussing:

  • An overview of the PBC framework and key components

  • How PBC meets and aligns with the Head Start Program Performance Standards

  • Strategies for developing collaborative partnerships

  • The practice of creating goals and action plans

  • How to conduct focused observation based on action plans

  • Prompts for reflection and feedback

 

Target Audience

The PBCTI benefits coaches, people who support coaches, and regional TTA who support coaching in programs.
