NCAI is pleased to host a webinar on the recently released discussion draft of the Draft Native Children’s Commission Implementation Act by Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) in response to The Way Forward Report from the Commission on Native Children. To assist Tribal stakeholders in preparing their feedback, NCAI is working in partnership with our sister organizations:

  • Tribal Self-Governance Communication and Education Tribal Consortium

  • Alaska Federation of Natives

  • National Indian Child Welfare Association

  • National Indian Health Board

  • National Indian American Housing Council,

  • As well as Anita Fineday, Commissioner on Commission on Native Children to provide Tribal stakeholders information on this expansive and important legislation to assist in drafting comments to Senator Murkowsi.

    Comments are due on September 12, 2025 Murkowski_Outreach@Indian.Senate.Gov and will inform the Senator on changes and improvements to the legislation.
