Join the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) for a webinar with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity. We’re discussing ways Head Start programs can participate in public health initiatives to improve nutrition and physical activity for young children. The webinar will highlight opportunities to strengthen farm to early childhood education (ECE) through national, state, and community partnerships. Discover helpful resources, curricula, and toolkits to help grow and sustain efforts to improve nutrition. The CDC is also introducing a new resource, the Farm to ECE Compendium. It’s a one-stop guide developed by the CDC and customized to support Head Start staff.

Panelists from Missouri, North Carolina, and Nebraska will be on hand to share their own successes and lessons learned while working with Head Start programs to strengthen farm to ECE.

Key Topics

In this webinar we’re discussing:

  • How to connect with public health partners to support nutrition and farm to ECE in Head Start programs

  • Available resources for farm to ECE, outdoor learning and gardening, learning collaboratives, statewide evidence-based interventions, breastfeeding support, and more

  • Opportunities to sustain momentum for nutrition programming in Head Start programs with national expertise through ongoing technical assistance
