Emergency Preparedness for Child Care

Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA) has launched a new emergency preparedness program and online community/listserv.

The Emergency Preparedness Program

The program will focus on training Child Care Resource & Referral staff and child care providers, providing technical assistance, developing resources, engaging with key stakeholders and advancing the national dialogue on the important role of child care before, during, and after emergencies. In addition, CCAoA will focus on the new emergency preparedness requirements, mandated through the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) Act of 2014. The Emergency Preparedness Listserv

In partnership with the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), the listserv will provide child care providers and operators, Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) staff, emergency preparedness experts, and other interested individuals with a forum for discussing and sharing ideas and best practices in emergency preparedness.
