Early Childhood Development in Indian Country Conference
Strategies for tribal communities to enhance the well-being of their youngest members
October 5 and October 6, 2016
The Center for Indian Country Development (CICD) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis seeks to engage American Indian and Alaska Native community leaders on strategies to enhance the well-being of their youngest members. The conference will highlight both scientific research and successful early child development programs within the American Indian experience. We also will share strategies to elevate early childhood development as a policy priority in Indian country and sustain funding.
To broaden perspectives and promote collaboration, the CICD encourages attendance of small teams from American Indian and Alaska Native communities consisting of leaders of early childhood development programs and tribal government representatives, tribal leaders, or elders. Also attending will be non-profit organizations and government agencies that manage funding and technical assistance for early childhood development initiatives in Indian country.
There is no charge for attending this day and a half conference, and meals will be provided.
Conference registration information will follow. For inquiries, please send an e-mail to cicd@mpls.frb.org.
