On April 21, 2016, the Office of Child Care, Administration for Children and Families, announced the availability of funds and requested applications for its fiscal year 2016 Native Hawaiian and American Indian Non-Profit Organization Child Care Grants (HHS-2016-ACF-OCC-YN-1120). This funding opportunity provides grant funds for up to two private, nonprofit organizations that: (1) do not have a current Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) formula grant directly with the Federal Government and (2) provide child care services to Native Hawaiian youths and/or American Indian youths from federally recognized Indian tribes who are not currently receiving child care services funded by other CCDF formula grants. The purpose of these grants is to increase the availability, affordability, and quality of child care programs that are child-focused, family-friendly, and fair to providers in areas that have been previously underserved and/or have unmet needs.
Projects will be funded for up to $1,000,000 per year over 3 years. Applications are due to www.Grants.gov by June 22, 2016. The funding opportunity announcement is available on this Grants.gov Web page. Questions can be directed to Carol Gage at (202) 690-6243 or email@example.com.
