2016 Play Institute Child Care Center Tours

NICCA has organized optional site visits for those interested in seeing a few high-quality child care centers in the greater Tulsa area. Individuals who sign up will be required to sign and submit a waiver to be transported to the sites. Individuals can only sign up to one tour per person and space is limited, so sign up today!
Two tour options are available and transportation will be provided to both.
Tour Option 1 (3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.)
The Riverfield Country Day School is located in Tulsa, OK. NICCA has organized a tour of the Pre-School from 3pm to 6pm. This is a non-Tribal child care center. The tour will begin and end at the DoubleTree at Warren Place. Transportation will be provided. By signing up for this tour, you must agree to sign a waiver for transportation. The waiver will be emailed to you upon signing up and is due 7 days prior to the event.
Tour Option 2 (11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
Delaware Child Development has centers in Bartlesville and Chelsea, OK. NICCA has organized a tour of Delaware Child Development's two centers and the administrative offices. This is a Tribal child care facility. The tour will begin and end at the DoubleTree at Warren Place. Transportation will be provided. Lunch will be at a local restaurant and the individual's responsibility. Lunch costs will not be covered by NICCA or Delaware Child Development.

Visit the Delaware Child Development Centers
Delaware Child Development (DCD) directly operates two nationally accredited, 3-Star centers in Bartlesville, OK. Both centers use Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Gold. The center’s enrollment is approximately 62 for each center and serves children from birth to age 5. The programs are full-time care facilities with master teachers that are certified in early childhood or a closely related field. Both centers have 3 full-time substitutes on site to be able to provide that continuity of care that children need and deserve when DCD teachers are out of the building because of vacation, sick, or training. The DCD programs also use Kids Report, an electronic parent communication system to share information with parents and ProCare, an electronic child care management tool for billing, attendance, and child records. Delaware Child Development has a center in Chelsea that is operated by a non-profit through a third party agreement.
In addition to the centers, you will be touring the DCD offices where services are provided for families, children, and child care providers through the DCD Subsidy Program, Resource and Referral (a contract with the state office of child care) and training for providers, Smart Start (a state contract), Family Child Care Home Child Nutrition (CACFP), billing and quality assurance for the centers, accounting and HR, maintenance, training, and nutrition services for the DCD centers.
