NICCA holds regular conferences and trainings that bring together child care leaders and program staff to network and share ideas and lessons learned on how to improve child care services and delivery for Tribal children at the local, Tribal, State, and Federal level.

Cherokee Nation Child Development Center
Infant & Toddler Immersion Class
Cherokee Nation, Oklahoma

The Cherokee Nation Child Development Center opened an Infant/Toddler Immersion class approximately 6 years ago. This program is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children and serves children ages 6 weeks through the age of 2.  Children are immersed in the language from birth and transition at age 3 to the Cherokee Nation Immersion School where they will continue with the language. This program has proven to be a success at revitalizing the Cherokee language!
